These wellness retreats in Steamboat Springs, Colorado, are giving...
What to do in Steamboat Springs, why, and what’s the vibe
I visited Steamboat Springs in November 2022 and it was my first-ever winter vacation. Well, technically, it was a press trip, which counts as work…to a degree. Anyway, I spent a few days in this straight-outta-Hallmark town and truly fell in love with it, and that’s saying a lot because I’m a Caribbean princess who HATES being cold. Here are a few of the wellness adventures I did and the energy that these excursions have.
Also, I wrote about my time in Steamboat Springs as someone with a chronic illness for Viator! Check out that article when you can HERE.
DISCLAIMER: Just because I connect one sign with a specific adventure doesn’t mean that you won’t enjoy it because it’s not your sun sign. There’s a little bit of every sign in our charts so if something resonates then give it a try!
Strawberry Park Hot Springs is giving Scorpio
Tucked into the mountains (about a 15-ish minute drive from downtown) are natural hot springs that all the locals know about. There are 3 different temperatures of pools ranging from oh-that’s-hotter-than-I-expected to my-nipples-hurt-it’s-so-cold. I visited this location with one of the PR reps from Finn Partners because we preferred being pampered to being on the slopes with the skiers. First of all, look at this view:
What makes this so Scorpio?
One: Scorpio is the energetic manifestation of an iceberg (iykyk) and when I visited Strawberry Park Hot Springs it was surrounded by snow-capped mountains and created a space for slow and very intentional movements (unless you wanted to slide down the mountainside)
Two: Once you’re on the inside, you’re on the inside. Scorpio energy is very protective and secretive, so when you’re in the inner circle, that’s when you get to see all of their colors. I think most fixed signs are like this but it’s just more intense with Scorpios. After you’ve made the journey to get to the hot springs, literally everyone there wants to hang out, talk, and get to you know, in that small town kinda way. It’s super endearing
Three: After hours, these hot springs become clothing optional and SUPPOSEDLY is a swingers meeting point. More than anything else, Scorpio energy loves when things get sexy.
Private chefs at the chateau are giving Taurus
My group had a private chef for the first night that we were in Steamboat Springs and I was thrilled. Not just because it was a fancy occasion, but also because the food and conversation was soooo good. We had a gourmet spread of local meats, cheeses, and homemade bread filled with a light yet savory cream, drizzled in balsamic vinaigrette, filet mignon, homemade chocolate lava cakes, and a few other courses that I’m forgetting. Our chef is a local mom-to-be who talked about how she met her husband (they met in high school, lost touch, then reconnected in the same small town of Steamboat years later!) and moved through the kitchen like it was choreographed.

What makes this so Taurus?
If you know a Taurus you know how hard it can be to get them to 1. Get out of the house 2. Do something that doesn’t involve food. Yes, these are stereotypes but also…am I wrong? The service of an at-home chef is included when you book through onefinestay and literally everyone is so nice! SO NICE! And they’re not paying me to say that. So you can be as luxurious as you want, in the luxury lodge that you spent dedicated hours researching, eating exactly what you want, then strutting your I-didn’t-murder-my-billionaire-husband robe back to your bedroom for a nap.
Winter sports in Steamboat Spring are giving Sagittarius
As I’ve said before, I’m not a winter girlie so winter sports are not for me. That being said, this location is giving VERY Sag energy because of everything around the sporting centers (and, of course, the adventure of winter sports themselves). The ski lodge at the top of the mountain has not only the most beautiful view of Steamboat on a clear day, but also has the STRONGEST drinks I’ve ever drank and remembered. That hot toddy was 70% alcohol and I didn’t even ask for a strong one. It, literally, brought tears to my eyes.
What makes this so Sag?
Sags love an adventure and to live for the moment. Extreme sports in already very fire sign energy but there’s something about the thrill of mountainside winter sports and the need to juggle multiple sources of information at once (your gear, your velocity, your knee placement, who else is on the mountain near you, etc.) that’s just candy to ever adventurous and intellectual Sag energy. Plus, Sag is almost always going to be the person in the center of the moshpit so they’d definitely enjoy a mega-strong cocktail to numb their unconventional (and oftentimes, messy and entertaining) decisions.
Addendum: if you take the gondola up to the ski lodge and just drink and take pictures of yourself and your crew in cute outfits, that SPECIFICALLY is giving Virgo princess treatment (which 10 out of 10 recommend)
